Cake Care
Cake Care
- Keep the cake refrigerated until needed, especially in warm weather
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Remove the cake from the fridge 30 minutes before serving for the best texture and flavour. Buttercream tastes best at room temperature.
- Ensure the buttercream is soft before serving. If it's still firm, allow it to sit out longer.
- Use a sharp, heated knife for clean slices. The easiest is to use a jug with hot water and a kitchen cloth to dip and wipe the knife blade regularly between slices. View our demonstration video here.
Enjoy the soft cake and creamy buttercream together.
- Store any remaining cake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
Follow the same steps when serving again.
Handling & Transport
- Boxes should be held upright, steady, and level to avoid decorations or cakes falling over - always carry the cake from the bottom of the box.
- Do not stack boxes to prevent the crushing of cakes.
- If transporting by car, please place cake boxes onto a level, non-slip surface and try to avoid bumpy roads.
- Long journeys can cause the icing to soften, so please try to avoid leaving your cake outside the fridge for more than 30 minutes (or about 15 minutes in warm weather).
